The plan's approval marks a significant step in the government's vision, putting youth at the center of the development agenda. "This landmark approval propels the PYDP towards full implementation, marking a significant stride towards the betterment of the nation's young population," NYC said in a statement on Tuesday, Aug. 1. "Together, we celebrate a moment of promise and opportunity, a win for PYDP, and unquestionably, a remarkable victory for the Filipino youth," it added. Experts from the NYC and University of the Philippines-Social Action for Research and Development Foundation, Inc. and representatives from government agencies, youth-oriented organizations, and policymakers worked collaboratively on the PYDP. By empowering the youth to be enabled, engaged, and patriotic citizens who can actualize their aspirations, the plan is also designed to mold a generation of resilient, proactive individuals who can significantly contribute to the nation's advancement. NYC Commissioner Ronald Gian Cardema represented Luzon, and PYDP Committee Chairperson Reena Vivienne Pineda successfully passed its final hurdle and secured official approval during the SDC Cabinet Level Meeting on July 27. Vice President Sara Duterte presided over the meeting with National Economic Development Authority Director-General Arsenio Balisacan and Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma serving as co-chairs.*(Rhowen Del Rosario)*
