LUNA, Apayao – The remains of a 50-year-old farmer buried alive in a landslide in Calanasan, Apayao at the height of typhoon “Egay” last week have been recovered.
The Apayao Provincial Police Office said the search and retrieval team was able to recover the cadaver of Paustino Bucnag Almag.
Almag was retrieved at about 7:30 p.m. on July 29 and was brought to his sister's house.
The bodies of the five other victims, two women, an eight-year-old child, and two men, have not been recovered.
The landslide buried their house and Apayao Gov. Elias Bulut Jr. immediately ordered a search for the victims even though they were believed to have died.
