The Gilas Pilipinas Women center will become the first reinforcement for the Chinese league since 2019.

Wuhan expressed its high hopes for the addition of the 24-year-old stalwart.

“We look forward to Animam’s good performance in the WCBA!” the team captioned on its post.

Born to a Nigerian father and a Filipina mother, the 6-foot-5 Animam made history after signing in the Women's Serbian League in 2021. She also had stints in France, competing for Toulouse Métropole Basket and USO Mondeville in the Ligue Féminine de Basketball last year.

The former National University standout recently bannered Gilas in the FIBA Asia Cup alongside Duke guard Vanessa De Jesus, Afril Bernardino, Ella Fajardo and Janine Pontejos.
