Devotees celebrate feast of Nuestra Señora de los Angeles

Diocese of Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos presided over a concelebrated fiesta mass at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Nuestra Señora de los Angeles de Binangonan in Rizal in celebration of the feast of the revered Nuestra Señora de los Angeles (Our Lady of the Angels).

This year’s celebration coincided with the 10^thyear of the parish. Since the 1950's the feast of the miraculous Nuestra Senora de los Angeles was celebrated on March 15 to commemorate its discovery on the lake side area of Pilapila, in Binangonan in 1892. The feast has been moved to Aug. 2, the liturgical feast in honor of the Marian title. The Marian image is venerated as the Mother Queen and Patroness of Binangonan. Diocese of Antipolo Bishop Emeritus Francisco de Leon granted its episcopal coronation in 2022. Fiesta rites and masses were also celebrated in Santa Maria, Laguna and in Calauag, Quezon.
