P600,000 'shabu' seized, 15 drug peddlers nabbed in QC buy-busts

Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized a total of P623,400 worth of alleged “shabu” and arrested 15 drug peddlers in separate buy-bust operations in Quezon City on Aug. 18 and 19.



Operatives of Masambong Police Station (PS 2) arrested suspects Michael Legria and Maricar Bacocanag at around 9:10 p.m. on Aug. 18 on Sta. Ana St. in Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City.
According to the report, a concerned citizen tipped off the illegal activities of the suspects which resulted in their arrest.
Police confiscated from the suspects about 60 grams of “shabu” worth P408,000 and the buy-bust money.
Also on the same day, Batasan Police Station (PS 6) operatives arrested Johari Bantayao at around 5:35 p.m. after a poseur-buyer bought P1,000 worth of alleged shabu from him at the corner of Isaiah and F. Salvador Streets at Jordan Plains Subdivision Gate 2, Barangay Sta. Monica, Novaliches.
The operation was done in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit -National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR).
Confiscated from the suspect were around 18 grams worth P122,400, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, teams from Talipapa Police Station (PS 3), Novaliches Police Station (PS 4), Galas Police Station (PS 11), Payatas Police Station (Ps 13), and Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14) arrested 12 other alleged drug peddlers and seized around P92,000 worth of shabu on Aug. 18 and 19.
According to the police, the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
