MPD arrests man for alarm and scandal, illegal possession of firearms in Tondo

A 23-year-old man was arrested for alarm and scandal and illegal possession of firearms in Tondo, Manila on Saturday, Aug. 19.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Reymark Manalastas, resident of De Vera Sepac Almasen Navotas City.

MPD said it dispatched personnel at around 3 a.m. after receiving several complaints about an armed man who initiated a disturbance at the corner of Mel Lopez Boulevard and Hebosa Street in Barangay 107, Tondo.

Upon arrival of the police, the suspect was seen carrying an improvised gun and shouting at residents in the area.

The suspect surrendered after the responding police officers approached him.

Recovered from him was an improvised gun or pen gun loaded with one live ammunition.

The suspect is now the custody of MPD Malate Station.
