Man arrested for attempted carnapping in Parañaque


A 25-year-old man who tried to steal a parked vehicle was arrested by responding village officials of Barangay San Antonio and members of the Parañaque City Police on Saturday, Aug. 19.

Police said the suspect identified as Jomar Codiamat was arrested early morning at Welcome Village, Barangay San Antonio. 

According to the investigation, the 54-year-old victim said he was awakened by a loud scream outside his home.

The victim claimed that he was informed that a man was trying to steal his black Nissan Urvan, which prompted him to call for immediate assistance from barangay officials.

The police said the barangay officials reported the incident and asked assistance from the BF Homes police substation leading to the arrest of Codiamat, who was also a resident in the village.

The suspect was detained at the police custodial facility.
