Meanwhile, its instruments recorded the tremor at Intensity III (weak) in Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon, and Intensity II (slightly felt) in Pawa and Tabaco in Albay, Rosario in Northern Samar, and Virac in Catanduanes.

Phivolcs’ instruments also recorded the quake at Intensity I (scarcely perceptible) in Legazpi City in Albay, and Panganiban in Catanduanes.

Phivolcs added that the earthquake has a depth focus of 105 km and was tectonic-originated, which means it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
