Karen Bordador addresses haters anew on getting Seo In-guk hosting job after Fulgar

Vlogger and former “Pinoy Big Brother” contestant Karen Bordador fired another salvo against haters over the issue of her replacing singer and actress Kristel Fulgar as host of Korean star Seo In-guk’s fan meeting in Manila last Aug. 12. 

Some netizens have vented their ire against Bordador after she replaced Fulgar as the fan meeting host just hours before the event started.

Fulgar, in an Instagram post on Aug. 12, announced that she would no longer be hosting the fan meeting. 

She eventually revealed in a YouTube video that the Korean technical director from Seoul-based HY entertainment company told her that she would be replaced as the host after she did not give her 100 percent energy during the rehearsals. 

Besides the Seo In-guk fan meeting, HY company also handled the Kim Jae-joong, “Be You,” Park Bom and Minzy events in Manila. 

Some netizens accused Bordador of knowing beforehand that she would host the event and speculated that Fulgar was only used to promote the show. 

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Aug. 18, Bordador addressed her haters. 

“Throwing hateful words doesn’t make you look cool and powerful. It simply makes you look like you have irrational hate in your heart,” she said 

She added, “It must be hard to live like that.  Let’s be unbothered, chill and light.”

Bordador earlier wrote, “Your words are a reflection of your character and values.”

Last Aug. 15, she said, “After receiving mean and baseless IRRATIONAL hate I didn’t deserve…now what? So easy to point fingers but naturally no accountability taken.  Damage is done! Karma comes in many forms. Hope you learned something. God bless!”

Bordador uploaded a video on YouTube on Aug. 16 to explain how she got the hosting job. 

Her fans defended her from bashers, who accused her of stealing the hosting job from Fulgar. 

One netizen praised her hosting, writing on X, “Pag magaling ka kaseng host kahit saan ka ilagay makikita at makikita ang galing mo, hindi kailangan ng mahabang rehearsal at second chance. Charizzzzz.”

A basher commented, “TARAY. TAKE ADVANTAGE SI ACCLA.CLOUT CHASER YAN.  SULUTERA! HAHAHAHAHA.”

While Bordador hosted the event, Fulgar watched Seo In-guk’s fan meeting as part of the audience. 

Despite not hosting the event, Fulgar met Seo In-guk backstage and had a selfie with him. 

Epic Events, the Philippine promoter of the fan meeting, said Fulgar’s replacement as host was not its decision. 

“We would like to thank Kristel Fulgar for her professionalism and being a class act all throughout!  She was one of the earliest to arrive and was already at the rehearsals at 7AM and gave positive energy to everyone!” it said in a post on Facebook. 

According to Epic Events, it even tried to include Fulgar in the fan meeting program. 

“We exhausted all efforts to have her part of the program; even to just have one song number/duet with seo in guk for the fans but as mentioned in the vlog, the decision to have her no longer host was not from our end,” it said. 

It added, “We again would like to thank Kristel and her family for being the nicest people and showing nothing but love and respect even on what transpired.”
