Illegal drug personality torched inside car in Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY -- The body of an alleged illegal drug personality was found burned to death inside a car before dawn on Thursday, August 17, in Sitio Bod, Barangat Lundag, Merida, Leyte.

The victim was a resident of neighboring Ormoc City and was nabbed in 2016 for illegal drug trading.

He was found on the passenger seat with a fractured skull. Vehicle was in an ascending position on the roadside towards Isabel town in Leyte.

Authorities found four bullet holes in the car and two deformed bullet contact, an unfired cartridge, and an empty shell of a caliber .45 pistol on the pavement in the driver's side.

Investigation said that at about 11:40 p.m. on August 16, residents heard successive gun shots in the area.

Police surmised that the victim was killed in a different location and was only brought and burned in Barangay Lundang.

Police have identified persons of interest and the owner of the vehicle but have yet to disclose their identities due to ongoing investigation.
