Marcos hails Pinoys' triumph in WCOPA

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. celebrated the triumphant victory of Filipino talents who bagged 362 medals at the 26th Annual World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

In his X (formerly Twitter) account, the President said the government will support them as they put Filipino talent on the map.
"We take pride in celebrating our Filipino talents for their achievement of winning 362 medals at the 26th Annual WCOPA in California!" he wrote.
"As you continue to captivate the world with your creativity, rest assured that your government is steadfastly behind you, offering our utmost support," he added.
Team Philippines 2023 arrived in Manila from California on Aug. 15, after conquering the WCOPA. The country ranked first for the most number of medals followed by South Africa, Thailand, Romania, and the USA.
The country also ranked first in the overall ranking followed by South Africa and Thailand.
The WCOPA is the only international performing arts talent competition held annually in Hollywood. Esteemed entertainment industry professionals are invited to judge, conduct seminars, and sign talent.
The competition first aired in December 2000.
