Parañaque LGU holds 'Buntis Congress,' beauty pageant for pregnant women
The Parañaque city government conducted a beauty pageant for pregnant women in the city alongside the Buntis Congress 2023 on Friday, Aug. 18, at the Parañaque City Sports Complex.

Mayor Eric Olivarez said eight pregnant women joined in the “Gandang Buntis 2023” beauty pageant.
Roselle Funtenilla of Barangay San Antonio was named as the grand winner. She was given a 50kg sack of rice, grocery pack, and health kit. She also received a P5,000 cash prize from Mayor Olivarez; a rice cooker from District 1 Councilor Pablo “Paolo” Olivarez II; and free access to a vaginal rejuvenation procedure from Dr. Carol Joanna Violago-Olivarez.
The first runner-up, Darilyn delos Reyes of Barangay San Isidro, was given a 25kg sack of rice, grocery pack, health kit, and an electric fan.
The second runer-up, Mary Jane Macaraeg of Barangay Sun Valley, also received a 25kg sack of rice, grocery pack, health kit, and set of baby clothes.
Meanwhile, Olivarez delivered a message to the 150 participants during the “Buntis Congress 2023," which is a program of the city government that aims to protect all pregnant women in the city.
He said the Nutrition and Dental Services Division gave lectures on the importance of the first 1,000 days of babies and information for mothers during their pregnancies.
The mayor also said members of the Family Planning - Maternal Newborn Child Health and Nutrition Program also gave some lectures on responsible parenthood.
During the activity, the city government through the City Health Office under Dr. Olga Z. Virtusio, in coordination with the Department of Health and Parañaque City Maternal Newborn Child Health and Nutrition, conducted HIV testing and blood typing.
He said the participants were also given vitamins, condoms and lubricants.
