Laborer arrested for killing live-in partner in Batangas

TAAL, Batangas – Police arrested a 44-year-old construction worker for allegedly killing his live-in partner in Barangay Zone 8, this town, on Thursday, August 17.

Batangas police director Police Col. Samson Belmonte identified the suspect as Jayson Agas Vergara.

Barangay officials called the police after a child sought their help for her mother who was in a heated argument with the suspect.

Police found the suspect yelling at his son and the unidentified victim lying on the floor unconscious with a head wound when they arrived.

Vergara was arrested and the victim was taken to the hospital where she was declared dead.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Taal police.

Lawmen are conducting further investigation on the incident.
