The official made the reminder on Facebook after leading the Brigada Eskwela activities at the Vicente Duterte Elementary School in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.
We made sure that the classrooms and the whole school are clean and clear),” she wrote.
The Vice President, who is also the country’s Education chief, said the Brigada Eskwela was participated in by teachers, students, and volunteers.
I am reminding our teachers about DepEd Order No. 21, series of 2023 or the Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines to ensure that classrooms are clean and free from decorations, tarpaulins, or posters to allow our students to focus on their lectures),” she added.
Duterte was even photographed removing her own photo posted on the wall of a classroom.
Some students and even the elderly also came to see and interact with the Vice President.
She took the time to thank “education stakeholders” for their support and active participation in ensuring the success of the Brigada Eskwela 2023 in time for the opening of classes on Aug. 29.
According to the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Brigada Eskwela “is a nationwide school maintenance program that engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, effort, and resources in ensuring that public schools are all set in time for class opening.”
