Treñas leads 'My Heart Beats in Iloilo City' slogan launch

ILOILO CITY – This city launched its newest slogan a week ahead of its 86th Charter Day celebration.

Mayor Jerry Treñas led the official launching of “My Heart Beats in Iloilo City.”

The slogan was officially launched with a video released via Facebook and TikTok on Wednesday, August 16.

The new tagline replaced “Bringing Iloilo City to the Next Level.”

“We encourage everybody to show to the world ‘Why does my heart beat in Iloilo’? Let us continue to like and share why we are proud of our food, places, heritage, and Ilonggos,” Treñas said.

The  new Iloilo City slogan was conceptualized following the controversial video for “Love the Philippines” slogan released by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in June.

The slogan of My Heart Beats in Iloilo City is the city government’s campaign to bring “sense of pride, love, and appreciation for the city, engaging the community via various strategies highlighting its unique heritage and culture and creating a strong emotional connection between the residents and the city.”
