Sam Asghari, husband of Britney Spears, confirms: 'My wife and I have decided to end our journey together'

Iranian-born actor Sam Asghari, husband of pop star Britney Spears, took to social media to confirm that he and Britney have separated.

Asghari, who US media described as Spears' most extensive support system, also asked the media for privacy, although he said it would be ridiculous.

On Aug. 17, multiple US media reports said that Spears and Asghari were reportedly divorcing after being married for 14 month.

But it seems Spears is not bothered by the issue, saying she plans to buy a horse soon. 

In her first post on Instagram following reports of divorce, Spears wrote on Instagram: “Buying a horse soon. So many options it’s kinda hard! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar? I can’t make up my mind,” the singer wrote in the caption as she sat in the saddle on the beach.

It was learned that Asghari filed for divorce from Spears.

Spears and Asghari headed down the aisle on June 9 (June 10, Manila time). But their wedding was interrupted after Britney's former hubby Jason Alexander crashed the venue in Los Angeles, California.

Alexander is Spears' first husband.

Spears and Asghari met in 2016 when they co-starred in a music video for her single “Slumber Party.”

During Spears' mental health treatment and the end of her conservatorship, Asghari, 29, supported her. However, US tabloids have spread rumors of their marital struggles.
