Marlo Mortel calls out 'fake news' spreader

Advancements in technology bring numerous benefits, but they also have drawbacks.

Take social media, for example.

Much as it continues to bring people closer, it has also created a lot of problems, with some users utilizing it to spread fake news.

Falling prey to this of late is actor-singer Marlo Mortel.

An unidentified online user has come out to accuse him of supposedly inviting her supposed "boyfriend" for a "threesome." 

Marlo denies this, deeming it "fake news."

He has since called out the perpetrator. 

"Just to let you know, I have all the screenshots of you and your FAKE accounts harassing me online," Marlo stressed, as he re-shared the "open letter" addressed to him.

"Before I report this for CYBERBULLYING, who are you that's claiming that you hang out with me and where's your message to me? Also, who's the 'so-called' boyfriend you're pertaining to that I've been messaging? Cause I haven't been talking to anyone," he pointed out.

Marlo also cleared that he doesn't have a condominium unit and a "social media girlfriend," contrary to the netizen's claim.

"THERE IS A LAW AGAINST FALSE ACCUSATIONS. I HOPE YOU ARE PREPARED FOR TRYING TO DAMAGE A PERSON'S LIFE."

In another post, Marlo declared that the screenshots of the "fake story" from a "dummy account" have already been forwarded to "higher authority."

"Thanks to those who are helping me here," he said. "Everyone who are also involved in spreading this fake news are being looked into. That is #Cyberlibel."

Of course, he is not the first celebrity to engage in mini-battles via social media.
