CAVITE – An escaped detainee of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was caught in Imus City on Wednesday, August 16.

The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) identified the suspect as Mark Anthony C. Clemente, 23, who is reportedly involved in syndicated estafa.

The Imus City Police Station (CPS) said the handcuffed suspect was seen by Barangay Malagasang 1-E officials wandering along Malagasang Road. Barangay Captain Josefino Sayaman informed Imus CPS personnel, who then invited the suspect to the police station.

Upon learning that Clemente fled from NBI, Imus CPS Chief Lt. Col. Jack Echman Angog coordinated with the agency, and an NBI team came to pick up the suspect.

In a statement, Cavite PPO Director Col. Christopher F. Olazo commended the Imus CPS for its swift actions that resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect.
