The SMFI has partnered with the city government and the Casuga Integrated Farm School to send farmers of Barangays Besigan and Tignapoloan to a 14-day training with modern techniques to organize a farm using organic practices.
The agriculture program of SMFI aims to provide nationwide support to farmers and uplift their economic status.
The training center, which is accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), provided an interactive demonstration where farmers could directly interact with the technical trainers, allowing them to experience and understand good agricultural practices.
The SMFI supports farmers by connecting with local government units and various government agencies to equip them with practical and sustainable backyard planting and small-scale farming methods for fruits and vegetables.
SMFI data showed that KSK-SAP had already trained 28,550 farmers from 3,397 barangays in 916 municipalities in the country from 2007 to 2021.
