2 NPA rebels, supporter surrender in Quezon

CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City, Quezon – Two New People's Army rebels and a supporter surrendered in Catanauan, this province, on August 16.

Quezon police chief Police Col. Ledon Monte identified the surrenderers as communist rebels “Jayson” and “Lea” and NPA supporter Danilo Marilao.

Their surrender was a joint effort among the police, military, and local government unit under the End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) headed by Catanauan Mayor Ramon Orfanel.

The rebel returnees condemned the NPA in a statement and are now in the custody of 2nd Quezon Mobile Force Company for validation and documentation.
