Silang LGU starts distributing school supplies to 37,000 students

CAVITE â€“ The local government unit (LGU) of Silang started distributing free school supplies to students in public elementary schools and daycare centers on Wednesday, August 16.

The kits were turned over to schools, with the first batch of recipients being Silang Central School, Silang West Elementary School, Bulihan Sites and Services Project Elementary School, and Bagong Buhay Elementary School.

In a Facebook post a day before the distribution, Mayor Kevin Amutan Anarna thanked the volunteers and organizations who assembled the supply kits.

The kit includes a bag, notebooks, a pencil case, writing materials, and art supplies.

Anarna said the LGU had enough time to acquire the school bags this year, allowing them to distribute them in time for the school opening.
