QC cops seize P3.6-M 'shabu,' arrest 24 drug suspects
Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) stations seized a total of P3,685,920 worth of alleged shabu and collared 24 drug suspects in a series of buy-bust operations launched on Monday, Aug. 14, and Tuesday, Aug. 15.
The Batasan Police Station (PS 6) arrested Gerry Gastador at the Batoda Terminal IBP Road, Brgy. Batasan Hills, Quezon City at around 11:40 p.m. on Monday.
The QCPD said that a buy-bust operation was conducted by PS 6 operatives in the area where a police officer acted as poseur buyer and bought P180,000 worth of the shabu from the suspect which led to his arrest
Confiscated from the suspect were 370 grams of alleged shabu worth P2,516,000, a sling bag, a weighing scale, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.

The Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) also nabbed Joernalyn Ross Pelaez at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, in front of a Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) lotto outlet along Forest Hill Drive, Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City.
They also arrested Ronnie Palmis and Lumer Pascua beside a Shell Gasoline Station along Quirino Highway, Brgy. Gulod, Quezon City at around 4:30 a.m. on the same day.
Confiscated from the suspects were 105 grams of “shabu” valued at P714,000, a black pouch, two cellular phones, and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, the QCPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) arrested Carlo Liwanag at 9:30 p.m. on August 14, beside Petron Gasoline Station located along G. Araneta Avenue, Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City.
The same operatives collared Jevelyn Pepito in front of No. 417 IBP Road Everlasting St., Brgy. Payatas A, Quezon City at around 4 a.m. on the same day.
Seized from the suspects were 45 grams of alleged shabu worth P306,000, a coin purse, two cellular phones, and the buy-bust money.
The QCPD stations in Cubao, Payatas Bagong Silangan, Pasong Putik, Talipapa, Fairview, and Masambong also launched several buy-bust operations in the city which led to the arrest of 18 suspects and in the seizure of P150,000 worth of “shabu.”
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
