Lotto tickets bought in Cavite, Cebu yield new millionaires

The P31.7 million Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot was won by two lucky bettors from Imus, Cavite, and Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said on Wednesday, Aug. 16.

PCSO said the two bettors correctly guessed the 12-05-01-30-09-14 winning number combination during the Aug. 15 draw.

Meanwhile, it noted that since the jackpot prize exceeded P10,000, it will be subject to a 20 percent tax deduction under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN Law.

It added that if the prize remains unclaimed within one year, it will be forfeited to the PCSO Charity Fund under Republic Act 1169 or the PCSO Charter.

The next Super Lotto draw will be on Aug. 17. (Sonny Daanoy)
