Gov. Fernando bags Outstanding Local Chief Executive of PH award

Another feather was added to the cap of Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando as he was awarded the Outstanding Local Chief Executive of the Philippines - Provincial Governor Category for Luzon Island by the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Incorporated (ALSWDOPI) on Tuesday, August 15.

Fernando personally received the award during the Gawad Parangal Ceremony held at the SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City which coincided with the association’s 26th National Social Welfare and Development Forum and General Assembly with the theme "Relevant and Responsive Social Welfare and Development Practices Amidst Political Conflicts and Movements for Social Change."

 

The award-giving body acknowledged the visibility of Fernando’s strong political will in promoting the social welfare and development of his constituents.

 

They also commended the innovative programs and services of the People’s Governor in uplifting the general well-being of the marginalized and vulnerable sectors of his locality, including indigenous people, solo parents, senior citizens, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

 

Fernando thanked ALSWDOPI and all the social workers in the country for their untiring dedication to push for the welfare and rights of the people. He also thanked the division heads and employees of the provincial government who have been his partners in implementing pivotal and significant programs for the Bulakenyos.

 

Gawad Parangal is an annual awards program conferred by ALSWDOPI to Outstanding Local Chief Executives and Local Social Welfare Development Officers which aims to recognize their efforts and invaluable support and contribution in the promotion of social welfare protection programs and services.
