Police Major Randy Babor, Binalbagan police chief, said that the victim, 51-year-old Tony Lazaga of Barangay 35 here, was found lifeless on the roadside in Barangay San Pedro around 3:30 a.m.

Lazaga was walking towards his boarding house when he was waylaid by unidentified persons. Babor said the victim sustained multiple stab wounds.

He said they are initially looking into robbery-holdup as motive behind the killing since the victim’s cellular phone and cash were reported missing.

Police recovered from the crime scene two bags containing laptop and personal belongings of the victim, two kitchen knives, damaged folding umbrella, and one slipper.

Babor said they have three persons of interest in the incident.

Meanwhile, the Binalbagan Catholic College (BCC) administrative team members, faculty and staff, and students offered a prayer vigil for Lazaga, who was recently designated as adviser of the Supreme Student Government (SSG) and faculty member of the school.
