Bulacan: The cradle of brave heroes

"Our province is repeatedly called notable. Bulacan is the cradle of the brave, of heroes from ancient times, and the great heroes of the present. We cannot count the reasons why our province is noble; only history can tell this."

Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro said this during the 445th Bulacan Foundation Day held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in the City of Malolos on Tuesday, August 15.

On behalf of Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, Castro led the commemoration of the province's founding anniversary with the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremony before the statue of Marcelo H. Del Pilar.

A mass and a brief program were held and attended by officials, provincial department heads, and employees of the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) at The Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center.

Castro underscored the fact that while the current generation of Bulakenyos was not present during those historical eras, what was gathered and penned in history books and the current anecdotes of Bulakenyos are enough to celebrate the province's glory.

During the same occasion, the new set of officials of the Bulacan Culture and the Arts Council took their oath of office before Castro. They are Vice Chairman Romeo Dela Rosa, Co-Vice Chairman Demetrio Bajet, and Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Officer Dr. Eliseo S. Dela Cruz as Secretariat along with its Honorary Member Board Member Richard A. Roque who was represented by Jemimah Magsipoc.

The PGB also relaunched the refurbished Kasaysayan ng Bulacan Mural at the Isidoro Torres Hall in the Capitol building featuring the past and present governors of Bulacan followed by SINEliksik Bulacan Film Showing at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center.
