453 examinees pass August 2023 food tech licensure exam — PRC
A total of 453 out of 1,133 takers have passed the August 2023 licensure examination for food technologists, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
With an average of 87.25 percent, Dominic Castro Panaligan from the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) topped the food technologists board exam conducted on Aug. 10 and 11.
Ma. Cristina Romabiles Ilano from UP-Los Baños and Jose Gabriel Lugue Luna from UPD tied for second with 86.75 percent each.
Ranked third were Portia Aliwanag Crisostomo from UP-Los Baños and Ingrid Panaligan Puentespina from UPD. Both have average scores of 86.50 percent.

The examination was facilitated by the Board of Food Technology headed by its chairman, Anthony C. Sales, and member Remedios V. Baclig.
PRC said passers may register online for their Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration on Sept 25 to 29.
Passers can view the instructions for registration at prc.gov.ph.
Furthermore, the requirements for registration include a downloaded duly accomplished oath form or "Panunumpa ng Propesyonal," notice of admission, two pieces of passport-sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of documentary stamps, and a short brown envelope.
PRC said the date and venue of the certified food technologist inductees' oathtaking will be announced soon. (Sonny Daanoy)
