42 more barangays, 1 town in Central Visayas declared drug-cleared
CEBU CITY – Forty-three more areas – 42 barangays and a municipality – in Central Visayas have been declared drug-cleared.
They earned the drug-cleared status when members of the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) convened on August 11.

Benjamin C. Recites III presided over the meeting on behalf of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas chief Jigger B. Montallana.
Other committee members present were Celerino Magto Jr. of the Department of Interior and Local Government-Central Visayas, Police Major Rey delos Santos of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, and Dr. Jonathan Neil Erasmo of the Department of Health-Central Visayas.
Representatives from the local government units attended the meeting via online.
Of the 42 barangays, 25 were from Cebu province, 11 from Bohol, three from Cebu City, and three from Mandaue City.
The municipality of San Remigio, Cebu also successfully passed the deliberation process and became the eighth municipality in the region to be declared drug-cleared.
Also during the deliberation, the drug-free status of Barangay Caohagan, Lapu-Lapu City was verified and officially retained.
