Jemboy Baltazar, the 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed by six Navotas City Police Station (NCPS) operatives after they mistook him for a crime suspect last Aug. 2, was brought by his family, relatives and friends to his final resting place at La Loma Cemetery in Caloocan City, on Wednesday, Aug 16.

A Holy Mass was held for the victim at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Church before his remains were brought to the cemetery.
Jemboy was shot dead by six policemen after he jumped from a boat into a river on Babansi Street in Barangay NBBS, Navotas City at 1:45 p.m. on Aug. 2. The incident was witnessed by his companion, alias Sonny Boy.
The NCPS operatives reportedly mistook Jemboy for a murder suspect they were tracking down.
The six policemen involved in the shooting were relieved and charged with criminal and administrative cases, including homicide. They were placed under police custody.
In her speech, Rodaliza Baltazar, the victim’s mother, said she's pushing for the filing of a murder case, not homicide, against the six policemen who killed her son.
She expressed her gratitude to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), who helped her return home, and the people who stood by their side in seeking justice for her son.
After her speech, the priests led the family members and relatives of Jemboy in blessing his casket with holy water.
They arrived at the La Loma Cemetery at around 4:44 p.m.
Meanwhile, Northern Police District (NPD) director Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas said on Wednesday, Aug. 16, that NCPS chief Col. Allan Umipig and his 22 personnel, including the six policemen and the two investigators on the case, were relieved from their posts and charged with criminal and administrative cases.
Umipig was relieved due to command responsibility and his failure to supervise the police operation.
The relief order was issued by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on recommendation of the NPD after a thorough investigation on the incident, police said.
