ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Twenty-two student leaders temporarily took over the helm of the city government as youth city officials on Monday, August 14.
The youngsters are sitting as youth officials from August 14 to 15 in line with the celebration of LInggo ng Kabataan.
Councilor Cary John Pioc, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president, said the youth leaders were chosen through an election, pursuant to City Ordinance 614, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Youth Code of Zamboanga City.
Abdul Rahim Anudin of the Baliwasan Senior High School was elected as youth mayor while Earl Roble of the Regional Science High School will sit as vice mayor.
Mayor John Dalipe administered the oath of participating youth officials during their first day at the Zamboanga City Hall.
Dalipe and Pioc also led the signing of the memorandum of agreement for the youth officials after the oathtaking rites.
