Mayor Eric Olivarez with the members of the Korean Health and Medical Association for Social Contribution (KHMASC)
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said members of the Korean Health and Medical Association for Social Contribution conducted a medical mission in the city on Monday, August 14.
Olivarez said volunteers of KHMASC will be in the country until Wednesday, Aug. 16, to provide free medical services to city residents.
On the first day of their medical mission, KHMASC volunteers provided free OB-Gynecological ultrasound, dental check-up, internal medicine, pediatric and ophthalmologic consultations at the Don Bosco gym.
The mayor said the delegates will also conduct cataract operations at the Ospital ng Parañaque-2 (OsPar-2).
Olivarez said the delegates also distributed medicines to residents who participated in the medical outreach program.
He thanked them for partnering with the city government in giving quality and free medical services to residents.
Olivarez said aside from the medical mission, the city government and the Ulsan province in Korea inked a Memorandum of Understanding to share their best practices.
He said the medical mission was made possible through the coordination of the City Health Office under Dr. Olga Virtusio with their counterparts.
He said a representative from the office of Congressman Edwin Olivarez, Ea Nono, OsPar-2 hospital director, Dr. Patrick Cruz II, and City Tourism Office and Public Information Office officer-in-charge Melquiades Alipo-on joined the medical mission.
