Seaman killed in motorcycle crash

BACOLOD CITY – A seaman died while his friend was injured after their motorcycle crashed into a signage post in Purok Villa Lourdes, Barangay Pahanocoy here on Tuesday, August 15.

Police identified the fatality as Michael Jun Lobaton, 31, of Barangay Sum-ag here.

Police Capt. Melvin Mercado, head of Police Station 8, said that Lobaton lost control over his 
motorcycle and crashed into a post.

Lobaton’s passenger, Jorell Olanday, 30, of Barangay Sum-ag, was injured.

Mercado said the victims were allegedly speeding on their way home from a birthday party.

They were reportedly under the influence of liquor when the accident happened, he added.

Olanday is confined in a hospital here, according to the police.
