Rep. Duterte's office distributes snacks, mugs at Kadayawan Tribal Village in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – The Office of First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte distributed on Monday, August 14, more than 500 traditional Filipino heavy snacks to all visitors, including the members of the 11 tribes, in the Kadayawan Tribal Village at Magsaysay Park here.

The Kadayawan Tribal Village has been the main attraction during previous editions of the festival, showcasing the rich culture of Davao City's 11 ethnolinguistic tribes – Ata, Matigsalug, Maranao, Maguindanaon, Bagobo Klata, Obo Manuvu, Bagobo-Tagabawa, Tausug, Sama, Iranun, and Kagan.

The distribution of the snacks – a cup of cooked rice vermicelli with slices of bread – with a printed mug kicked off during the opening of the Bantawan Cultural Presentation, a cultural convergence, for the 38th Kadayawan Festival, held at the Bantawan Amphitheater of the Magsaysay Park.

Rep. Duterte's office said that the First Congressional District Office, in partnership with Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) party-list, is motivated to provide such a snack to everyone who passed by the food truck in support of the Kadayawan Festival.

"Our intention behind this activity is to ensure everyone is enjoying the festival without starving," Rep. Duterte said, reaffirming a steadfast commitment to providing essential assistance not only to the people they represent.

The activity will run from August 14 to 20 (Kadayawan Culmination).

The 38th Kadayawan Festival formally commenced on August 10, Thursday evening, in the same venue, highlighting the vibrancy of diversity.

Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte took the lead in grandly striking the gong to mark the initiation of the celebrations for this year’s festival.
