CEBU CITY — A mother and her son died after the motorcycle they were riding in collided with a passenger bus early Tuesday morning, August 15, in Barili town, Cebu province.

The fatal accident happened around 5:10 a.m. on a highway in Barangay Minolos, police said.
Police identified the fatalities as Nancy Maambong and her son Beby.
Police said the victims, who lived in Asturias town, were headed to Dumanjug when they met the accident.
Police said that the motorcycle driven by Beby encroached the opposite lane where it collided with a Ceres bus driven by Niere Roldan Sestoso, 45.
The victims were declared dead when they brought to the Barili District Hospital.
Police said the bus driver could be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and damage to property.
