'Habagat' to continue to affect parts of Southern Luzon, VisMin
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, Aug. 15 said the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” may continue to bring rain showers and thunderstorms to some parts of the country.
In the next 24 hours, Palawan, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned of the possibility of flooding or landslides in these areas due to moderate to occasional heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country may continue to experience warm weather due to partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms possible in the afternoon or evening.
PAGASA also advised the public to be cautious of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
As of Tuesday, PAGASA has not monitored a low pressure area that may affect the country in the next few days, said weather specialist Grace Castañeda.
