SAN Fernando City, Pampanga – Five former members of the New People’s Army and communist front organizations have surrendered to authorities in Central Luzon.
A former member of the Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid presented himself to the police and relinquished a .38 caliber revolver and ammunition in Nueva Ecija.
An ex-Militia ng Bayan member, "Win," surrendered a .38 caliber revolver and ammunition to the police in Barangay Santo Tomas, Lubao, Pampanga.
Win, recruited by the NPA in 1986, was in charge in transporting supplies and providing intelligence. He has received initial cash assistance to aid his reintegration into the community.
"Michael," also a former Militia ng Bayan fighter from Zambales, voluntarily surrendered and yielded a caliber .22 revolver.
Two women in Bataan renounced ties with Anakpawis, a CFO linked to the communist movement, and surrendered a .38 caliber revolver with ammunition to police.
