1 killed, 3 hurt in Cainta fire

A woman was killed while three others, including two children, were injured following a fire that razed a residential area along St. Louis Ave., Brookside Subdivision in Cainta, Rizal early Tuesday morning Aug. 15.

According to the Cainta Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at around 3 a.m. and was put out at 3:45 a.m.

The victim's remains were found buried in the rubble after the 2nd floor of the house she was sleeping in collapsed due to the blaze. Her identity was not disclosed by the authorities.

Meanwhile, the injured individuals were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to the caretaker of the house, a candle that was left lit could be the cause of the fire after the family that owns the house came home from a wake.

Fire marshals are still determining the cause of the fire.
