Tourist nabbed for transporting P722,600 marijuana

BONTOC, Mountain Province – A tourist was arrested after he yielded P722,640 worth of marijuana bricks in a checkpoint in Poblacion here on August 11.

The suspect was identified as Raymart Flogio Mendoza, 30, a resident of Tondo, Manila.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera received information that the suspect was transporting marijuana from Kalinga to Baguio City through Mountain Province.

PDEA, with the Mountain Province and Kalinga police, conducted a checkpoint operation and recovered six bricks of marijuana dried leaves from the suspect.

Mendoza faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
