Minor student drowns in Batangas

LIAN, Batangas â€“ A minor student drowned while swimming in the sea here on Saturday, August 12.

Police said the victim, a resident of Sitio Balabag Araw, Barangay Bungahan, this town, arrived with relatives and friends for a swimming party in a beach resort here.

He went swimming but later on went missing and believed to have drowned due to strong waves.

The victim was located after a 15-hour search by rescuers on Sunday morning, August 13, in Barangay San Diego, this town.

The incident was reported to the Lian Municipal Police Station by Coast Guard officer PO1 Rommel Bastona.
