Man apprehended for drug pushing in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 here on Saturday, August 12.

The suspect was identified as Arturo Peñoso, of Barangay 2.

Police Capt. Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, said that 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P127,500 were confiscated from the suspect.

Pendon said the suspect is a high-value individual since he was also arrested for drug pushing in 2020 when he was a minor.

However, he reportedly escaped from the Social Development Center (SDC) two months after his apprehension, Pendon added.

Pendon said the suspect’s father is incarcerated at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City while his older sibling is also in jail for drug pushing.

Drug charges were filed against the suspect on Monday, August 14, according to Pendon.
