ICYMI: Paris Baguette is coming to the Philippines

South Korea’s famous bakery chain is set to open its first store in the country this year

Filipinos’ love for anything Hallyu spans beyond K-drama, K-movies, and K-pop. Korean food has also found its way into our lives, taking a special space in our hearts and tummies. Luckily for us, there are numerous establishments in Manila to experience the goodness that comes from South Korean food brands, and the list keeps growing.

The latest South Korean food chain to enter the list is Paris Baguette. News about its coming was officially announced last Aug. 10 when Malaysia's Berjaya Food and Middle Trade Inc. and the Philippines’ Middle Trade Inc. signed a contract to bring bakery-cafe to the country. According to reports, Paris Baguette is set to open its first store in the Philippines before the year ends. The two companies target to launch five locations in the country.

Specializing in French-inspired goods, Paris Baguette first opened its doors in 1998. It is loved by many for its baked goods such as natural yeast bread, fresh yogurt cream cake, double cheese croissant, and other pastries. Its menu also features an array of sandwiches, salads, and brewed drinks. Currently, the boulangerie has over 3,500 stores in South Korea, and has launched stores in the US and Canada, other Southeast Asian countries.
