'Asia's Queen of Songs' serenades homeowners in Parañaque benefit concert

The BF Bayanihan officers in Parañaque City invited Pilita Corales, famously known as "Asia’s Queen of Songs," to perform at a benefit concert held to raise funds for various outreach and beautification projects in the community.

According to Eduardo Blanco, chairperson of BF Bayanihan, Corales who was in her 80’s, gladly accepted their invitation to be part of the fundraising project.

Blanco said the homeowners, mostly senior citizens, were regaled by Corales' immortal classics.

He said Corales remains every inch the musical icon that the Filipinos remember.

“Ms. Corales can now be acknowledged as a national artist because, despite her age, she can still give happiness through her music to the Filipinos especially the senior citizens, “ Blanco said.

The chairperson said BF Bayanihan is an enclave within the sprawling BF Homes Subdivision in Parañaque.
