Mayor Honey mourns death of father, former city vice mayor

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan announced the death of her father and former Manila Vice Mayor Danilo Bautista Lacuna.
In a statement released on Sunday, Aug. 13, the mayor said her father passed away early Sunday at the age of 85.
"It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the death of Hon. Danilo Bautista Lacuna, Former Vice Mayor of Manila. Our beloved Daddy Dany joined his creator early this morning, August 13, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones," she said.
Danilo Bautista Lacuna served as a Manila City Councilor from 1968 to 1975.
He also served as a city vice mayor from 1970 to 1971; 1988 to 1992; and 1998 to 2007.
He was also the founder of the local political party "Asenso Manileño", where former Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso and Lacuna-Pangan were members.
He also received the "Dangal ng Konseho Award" in the recent 122nd anniversary of the Manila City Council (MCC) last July 31, in recognition of his MCC service for decades.
"A man of great service and compassion, Danny touched many, creating life which spans further than just his years and into the hearts of us all where he will remain forever. We invite you to join us as we celebrate his life as well as his new life in Paradise," Mayor Honey expressed.
Meanwhile, the Manila Public Information Office (PIO) noted on its Facebook page that it will soon announce the details of the wake.
