The event, called "Run for healthy lungs," took place on Aug. 12 at De La Salle University - Dasmariñas and was attended by over 500 runners.

In a statement, the DOH said that this initiative is one of the department's campaigns aimed at raising awareness about lung health and the importance of physical activity.

The event also featured "Lung Health Literacy" booths and mobile x-ray units accessible to the participants, with complimentary consultations provided.

"The 'Run for Healthy Lungs' event was an inspiring and fun-filled occasion that brought together people from all walks of life to raise awareness about lung health and preventive measures against lung-related illnesses," DOH said.

It was also attended by DOH Public Health Services Team Assistant Secretary Dr. Beverly Lorraine C. Ho, CHD Calabarzon Infectious Disease Cluster Head Dr. Evamarie Torio, and Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer Barzaga.

"We continue to pursue the goal of ensuring that all Filipinos will have access to timely and relevant health services and health information. With KonsulTayo, we enjoin Filipino families to consult their primary care providers by providing them with information on risk factors, symptoms, and access points that would make it easier to navigate the healthcare system. This also interfaces with our campaign for the Seven Healthy Habits, and in making the healthy choice the easier choice for everyone, every time and everywhere," said Ho in her speech.
