Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives seized P1,955,000 worth of alleged shabu and arrested 17 drug peddlers in a series of buy-bust operations in Quezon City.


On Thursday, Aug 10, the Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) operatives conducted a buy-bust operation which resulted in the arrest of the suspect identified as Abdul Mamantar, 53, of Barangay Punturin, Valenzuela City.
A police report said that Mamantar was nabbed at around 10:30 p.m. at the corner of Villanova Avenue and Gen Luis St. in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City after he sold P100,000 worth of shabu from an undercover police officer posing as a buyer.
Operatives seized 200 grams of shabu with a street value of P1,360,000, a sling bag, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.
On Saturday, Aug. 12, Anonas Police Station (PS 9) authorities arrested suspects Teresita Bayle, Noemi Uy, Androl Makabenta, and Tess Bayle based on a tip from a concerned citizen informing them of the suspects’ illegal drug activities.
The four suspects, who were arrested at Area Zigzag, Kaingin 2, Barangay Pansol, Quezon City at around 4:00 a.m., yielded 70 grams of shabu worth P476,000, a cellular phone, a motorcycle, and the buy-bust money from the suspects.
Also on that said day, teams of police officers from the Masambong Police Station (PS 2), Novaliches Police Station (PS 4), Fairview Police Station (PS 5), Batasan Police Station (PS 6), and Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) apprehended 12 other alleged drug peddlers and seized around P119,000 worth of shabu.
According to the police, the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
