Parañaque LGU, MTRCB ink MOU on responsible television viewing

The ParaÃ±aque city government and the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for responsible television viewing on Friday, Aug. 11, at the ParaÃ±aque City Sports Complex.

The MOU signatories included Mayor Eric Olivarez, and MTRCB Chairperson Diorella Maria Sotto.

Olivarez said the signing of MOU was conducted to push for responsible television viewing among the youths.

The mayor thanked Sotto for MTRCB's partnership with the city government in protecting the moral character and personal development of the youths through programs shown on television to encourage responsible viewing habits.

Olivarez assured Sotto that the city government will continue to promote and implement similar programs of the MTRCB.

Aside from the MOU signing, the MTRCB also conducted a seminar on responsible television viewing, attended by more than 200 students and their parents.

The seminar focused on the classification ratings of MTRCB and the responsible viewing principle of the agency, as well as the use of digital platforms and digital parenting styles.
