Paranaque LGU, DOLE, industrial peace council sign labor, employment agreement
The Parañaque local government signed on Friday, Aug. 11, an agreement with the City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (PCTIPC) and the Department of Labor and Employment-National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) in response to labor and employment issues.

Mayor Eric Olivarez was represented by City Administrator Atty. Voltaire dela Cruz during the signing ceremony at the Parañaque City Sports Complex.
He was joined by DOLE-NCR Regional Director Atty. Sarah Buena Mirasol, PCTIPC Management Sector Vice Chairperson Emmanuel Rios, and PCTIPC Labor Sector Vice Chairperson Henry Roman.
According to Olivarez, the PCTIPC will be assigned to lead the initiatives and policies that will be implemented to address issues and concerns by the city workers. It will have a bigger role in pushing for industrial peace, he added.
Aside from the city government, other government agencies like the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), at Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will assist in handling problems concerning employment.
The mayor said the city government will also help resolve labor and employment issues to promote productive working conditions for all workers in the city.
The signing of agreement was witnessed by DOLE Muntaparlas Field Office Director Leonides Castillon Jr., Parañaque Workers Affairs Office OIC Elizabeth Villanueva and Public Employment Service Office OIC Amie Martin.
