NBI seizes P206-M worth of 'fake' Louis Vuitton products
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has confiscated P206 million worth of alleged counterfeit products of Louis Vuitton in Bulacan, Pasay City and Paranaque City.
In a statement, the NBI said its Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) implemented six search warrants addressed to Warehouse 6 of RIS 1 Complex in Barangay Tabe in Guiguinto, Bulacan; four stalls in LRT shopping mall in Pasay City; and a stall in Micar Shopping Center in Parañaque City.
During the operation, it said that 1,588 pieces of assorted “fake” Louis Vuitton products valued at about P206 million were seized.
It said that those responsible for the “fake” products will be charged with violations of Republic Act No. 8293, the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
The NBI did not give added details on the seized “fake” products. It neither gave the names of the owners of the establishments raided last Aug. 9.
