Laborer buried alive in cemetery in Tayabas City


TAYABAS CITY, Quezon – A 60-year-old laborer was buried alive in a private cemetery in Barangay Baguio here on Friday, August 11.

Tayabas City police chief Lt. Col. Bonna Obmerga identified the victim as Cerilo Jasulin, a resident of Barangay Baguio.

Investigation said the victim and a co-worker were digging the foundation of a concrete fence at Himlayang Paraiso Cemetery when the soil suddenly collapsed and buried him.

Investigator-on-case Police Master Sgt. Wendel Pornasdoro said the victim was taken to the Tayabas City Community Hospital where he died due to a serious head injury.

His colleague was unharmed, police said.
