Fire hits fastfood outlet in Zamboanga City


ZAMBOANGA CITY – A fire hit a fastfood outlet inside a mall here on Saturday, August 12.

A concerned citizen called the Zamboanga City Police Office at about 4:10 p.m. to report that the fastfood outlet Burger King located inside KCC Mall caught fire.

The Bureau of Fire Protection, Zamboanga City police, and City Disaster Risk Reduction Management helped put out the blaze that started at 4:07 p.m.

Fireout was declared after 50 minutes.

Some mallgoers reportedly pushed their way out of the mall at the height of the blaze but no casualties or injuries were reported.

Witnesses said the fire started at the ceiling of the fastfood outlet.

Investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

The BFP placed the damage to property at P1.6 million.
